Our Playground in the Sky

This is the story of how our Sentia Playground came to be…

It started with a dream: a garden oasis plonked atop a city high rise.

We engaged the leading landscape architect who is an expert in designing children’s playgrounds.

He and his team sat with the whole Sentia team to hear more about our dream.

Next he asked families what they would like to see.

Last, but definitely not least, he asked the children.

‘A Swimming Pool!’

‘A bench where I can sit and think.’

‘A crocodile swimming in a river.’

‘Lots of trees to give us shade.’

‘A village with shops.’

‘A giant sandpit.’

‘A cubby house.’

Although he could not grant all our wishes, he embraced the challenge of incorporating as many of our ideas as he possibly could.

The children were so excited.  They built a scale model of his design.

Then a team of expert builders set about making the transformation happen.

Voila- Our magical garden in the sky was born!

Now the children enjoy the changing seasons by watching the annual transformation of our deciduous trees.

They stomp in puddles and make mud pies.

The village is alive with ice cream shops and cafes that serve cappuccinos that only cost one leaf.

This is the stuff of happy childhoods.
