The Tree

This is a true story from one of our Sentia families:

Once upon a time, a little boy was born into a family that loved him very much.

The little boy did not come without challenges. Day and night, he would cry.

His Mother and Father would walk him up and down the hall at all hours to get him to sleep.

One night, his Mother put him in a pram and walked him around the back yard. She stopped under the tree to pick up a branch only to realise her son had stopped crying.

He seemed to be mesmerized by the tree blowing in the wind.

As he grew, this fascination never stopped. He would stop and smell every flower on a walk. He would water the grass so his Father could "cut it some more".

He awoke each morning to water the trees in the back yard before breakfast.

Then the little boy went to Kinder.  His fascination and knowledge grew and grew with the support of teachers who explored questions like "how do plants grow?".

The teachers gave him information, created experiments and joined in his moments of exploration with joy and enthusiasm.

They showed how to explore, experiment and learn.

He learnt a life skill based on intrigued.

One day he asked for his own garden to water.

He now grows food that he enjoys eating with his family.

This little boy continues to grow, dreaming of what he will grow next and armed with the skills to chase his passion.

Never underestimate the power of a moment in time.
